Suda51 pretty much confirmed No More Heroes 3…for the next Nintendo console XD a while ago, in an interview he said that no NMH2 would be the last title of the series on the wii, though what he meant was not moving the series to PS3 or Xbox, but he wanted to do the next title of the series on the next Nintendo console.

About that it seems that the Square/Enix president thinks that the next console will be released in 2011, will have HD support, a new controller and the graphics obviously improved…<.< >.> maybe he knows something! o.o ahem, anyway, let's go on X3

GAME OF THE WEEK: One Piece: Unlimited cruise: episode 1
Genre: Action/Adventure

When I picked up this game, being a One Piece fan (well…rather being an all-anime fan X3), I expected a nice, fun game, but nothing absolutely huge, as we all know how anime-based games can be great and fun, but never going beyond the "good game" factor, or almost never (there are exceptions like Jump ultimate stars). But I'm glad to say that this game surprised me and I'll explain you why :3

The graphic look of the game is not top-notch, the game was originally released in the first year of the wii and it came out in Europe just now X3 beside this it isn't anything ugly, the models move smoothly, the expressions of the characters are lively and the game makes good use of the camera and the perspectives in the cutscenes. The framerate is quite smooth too, it slightly slowed down just in the most crowded situations. The design of the level, while not being overly original it's quite nice, giving you many different areas to explore.

Now, let's talk about the gameplay: the game is a hybrid of an action game, an adventure game and an RPG. In a few words the straw hat pirates suddenly seem to come across a weird set of islands and a mysterious voice cheerfully tells Luffy (it's spelled Rufy in the Italian manga, but I'll try and respect the American spelling, even if japs don't use the L letter if I'm right) that they just ended up in a game formed by different trials. If they get to go trough all the trials they'll get a huge surprise, wich could be anything, from a treasure to something more. Anyway, the game haves you going around the different islands, defeating weird clay doll enemies that can morph into  enemies that the group encountered recently, like marines and government agents. If that's not enough the crew will find a strange creature called Gabri, capable to turn the items you'll find scattered around the islands into points…Those points can be used to unlock more areas of the island by charging the different "orbs" that Gabri haves with him…every item can charge a certain orb, for example a simple healing herb can charge a bit of the green orb.
Around the islands you'll find the different areas to unlock. Some of them will lead to different courses, some to treasures, some will lead to the "trials" (to unlock the courses though you'll need not only orb points, but specific items that the trials will tell you). Said trials are creepy purple tree/flower things that release big seeds from wich old enemies of the straw hat crew pop out, sometime having even more than one at once.

The fighting system is simple but interesting for a few things. At the beginning all of the characters (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Chopper, Nami, Robin, Usopp, Franky and Brook) will just have a basic attack or a simple combo of two hits, that will be done by pressing the A button…fighting enemies though, those moves will level up more and more (the max they can reach the first time you play the game is 5) and this will unlock more moves for the roster of your characters. Those moves can level up too, resulting into unlocking a quite nice set of moves trough the game, including special moves that will permanently use the MP bar until you either heal it with certain items or go back to the ship.

While you fight you'll also have a list of commands on the right side of the screen…by doing all those commands in no particular order you'll go in Break rush mode. The break rush mode lasts just a few seconds and temporarily makes you way stronger and capable to smash your enemies away…defeating enemies with the break rush mode will also make enemies drop items and HP and MP orbs to heal your character.

During the game you'll find A LOT of different items that can be either converted into orb points, used, or molded together to have new useful items. You can do so on the ship in wich after a few time you'll unlock the ability to build, cook and prepare. Building new objects will grant you to unlock a few special moves for the characters, have useful items (like a fishing rod and a bug-catching net) or let you bring more items with you. Cooking dishes you'll be able to slightly power up the HP and MP of your characters…I'd suggest you doing this as much as you can, you'll need them X3 Preparing will let you have items to heal yourself, a couple of special moves for Chopper or ingredients for dishes.

I mentioned the fishing rod and the bug-catching net earlier…those can be useful to catch animals, bugs and fishes that can be used either as ingredients for certain items or, about the fishes, you can simply put them in the aquarium of the ship.

Overall, the game is also quite difficult (most of the bosses will be able to wipe out almost all of your characters, you have to know what you're doing X3) and especially…LONG…just to let you know how much this game took to finish…well, at the end of the storyline just 31% of the game was completed and I played for 23 hours XD the game haves a lot of stuff to unlock…secret items, secret projects, hidden bosses, hidden courses and hidden modes…by completing the game you'll also gradually unlock secret characters for the multiplayer mode (wich works like in the game, just player against player) and a hard mode with the ability to bring all the moves you learned with you and train them beyond the 5th level…oh and secret clothes! X3

The music of the game is kind of RPGish and haves a nice set of tunes that will probably never annoy you…I love the boss themes myself X3

The story seems to be quite simple, but somehow, especially if you're a One Piece fan it'll push you forward, making you want to know what's going on and what's the surprise at the end. I really like how in the cutscenes the feeling of watching an episode of the anime is always there, with the funny parts that made the anime famous.

Thing is…the sequel came out here in Europe just the other day XD yes, this game doesn't actually finish the storyline, even though it's such a long game. A good thing is that you can move your save data on the sequel and continue the training of your characters from there, also unlocking extra stuff doing so.

The game pretty much left me amazed and I really enjoyed it…so, this game, to me is a Must-Get for the One Piece fans…for the others who want to get into the series this game might be a bit spoilerish, but not too much, you'll still enjoy watching the anime really…I'd suggest this game also to people who loves adventure games, but I'd suggest you to take a peek at the anime first, since it's mandatory if you want to understand some of the themes and the jokes of the game.

Now, here are a few screens for the game:

a new nintendo console? D: already? but they really haven't truly explored the depths to which the wiimote and stuff could be used... I did hear once though that they were going to make a more HD compatible Wii with better processing power and storage space, so i'd welcome it if it was that that they plan to release about then...
though, where are our multi-coloured Wii's they promised us like when they were first advertising it? D: x3

New Super Mario Bros Wii is supposed to be able to connect over the 'net isn't it? =o will be cool like that.

and I may just check out this One Piece unlimited cruise =o just cause it sounds extensive. I don't like the sound of the whole idea of getting orbs to unlock parts of islands though =x

My interest is going to the new Nintendo Console! =3
2011!? =P
Now that's fast! :w00t:
I hope Nintendo is still gonna Support the Wii though, somewhat like Sony did to their Ps2! (though, not as long as they did offcourse) :giggle:
Then people aren't really forced to buy the new console and have plenty of time to buy the old games before they go poof! X3

Anyway, Great Wiikly news report Sparky! ;)
Great source of information. X3

Oh yeah!! XD
Because that was the down-side when the Wii came out, at a sudden point I came to the store and not even a single gamecube game was left and I was like: "Where did they go!?" :ohnoes:
I'm glad Nintendo's gonna do things slowly from now on! :D

I guess I love Nintendo once again! :w00t:

I'll be seeing that one piece game sooner or later. It sounds...really similar to the other one I played with a few exceptions. Not a bad thing unless there's as much item hunting as there was in the last one I played. =/

Regardless this is another interesting wiikly cap'n. :)

there is item hunting, but if you know where to get it it isn't really that hard...plus you can train your moves while you look for them...you'll need them against the bosses, believe me X3

Finding the items wasn't a problem.Just tedious. (except the golden whale.that was kind of tricky, but that was only needed for some extra's)
The bosses were really fun. They hit hard, but once you get their pattern down some won't even be able to touch you. (especially with Ussop)
My sister loves the series much much more than I do so I'll be seeing this game one way or another. XD
